BOMBER MEETS RUFFLES

Bomber and ruffle skirt.

This look captures one of my most practiced outfit formulas–take a masculine piece, in this case a new bomber (how good are the wool  sleeves?!) and add a lingerie inspired skirt (one of my fave finds from a recent trip to Oaxaca) and you get a balanced look with pieces from the opposite sides of the spectrum.

The delicate ruffles will be ideal with a wispy cami on a hot summer day, but why wait for another six months to rock a sweet piece like that, when it can be paired unexpectedly with a utilitarian nylon bomber? And the otk boots are ideal here, as they serve a most necessary layer under a featherweight skirt in the biting SF winter.

I’m also not reserving this vintage, rhinestone adorned clasp evening bag for night time soirees only (I made sure my iPhone fits before snapping it up!). The more you can make all your pieces work for you all year round and all hours of they day the better!

And don’t save those OTT earrings either. NYE parties may have come and gone but that glitzy vibe can be yours all year round day and night. Just remember to temper something overtly feminine with something masculine.
