Red was big trend on the fall 2017 runways, but it’s not a color I’m naturally drawn too, but I’ve been wanting to introduce more color into my wardrobe, and when I saw this silk blouse in a chartreuse from one of my fave vintage stores in the East Bay, Mercy Vintage, I could not pass it up.  I love the cool yellow (and the spring 2018 runways did show a lot of  yellow), and wanted to pair it with this something just as punchy. The powder blue pants are from the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection from 2013. It was one of Target’s better designer collabs, and I have a few other pieces that I still have and like to wear.

To temper these bold hues, I threw on my go-to tan vintage duster, if you follow this blog, you have seen me rock this Courreges duster numerous times. It’s been godsend, I love that I can wear it during the windy SF summer and spring days and I’m looking forward to pairing it with chunky sweater when the weather finally allows! I’ve also been looking for a classic camel coat, ideally vintage. But for now this duster is an ideal lightweight cover-up.

With  jewelry I kept the palette subdued, not to compete with the rest of the look. If you want to try the mismatched earrings trend, it’s the easiest to do with very similar designs and scale. The amber color glass drop earrings from the 80s are linked below. They are really classic, in the style that reminds me of Chanel’s pâte-de-verre stones, and the amber is so neutral it’s easy to wear with everything. The Lucite ball drops are I have not listed yet, but just email me for more info. I layered the black and white glass cabochon link bracelet with a new find, a retro gold-tone link bracelet. To complete the look without visually distracting from the color blocked ensemble, the bag and shoes are in neutral black in clean shapes.

What statement color(s) will you be wearing for fall? Please comment below.
